The Bjornson Male Chorus has been preserving their Norwegian Heritage through male chorus singing for 80 years. Their dedication to this wonderful hobby has delighted audiences throughout the local Norwegian colony and also, Norway. Organized on March 21, 1924 their dedication and hard work has produced a successful well-balanced and well-trained chorus.

The Chorus has a history of talented directors beginning with Sverre Larson, followed by Maurice Sommerfelt and E. Arnold Alenius. The Legacy of the Bjornson Male Chorus continued with Wayne Spies who maintained their standard of entertaining performances. His late wife, Mette Askheim Spies, performed with the chorus on many occasions. In 1979, both Wayne and Mette were awarded the St. Olav medal for their great contribution to Scandinavian music. The current director, Edwin Kramer, comes from a background of musical talent and continues to uphold the Bjornson Male Chorus long-standing tradition of excellence.

Bjornson Male Chorus has been blessed with an array of gifted singers including the nationally known tenor, Kenneth Michaels. In addition, the Bjornson Ladies Auxiliary supports the chorus by graciously donating their time and talent.

Today you will find these dedicated men singing their hearts out at churches, retirement homes, national singers conventions and many other events including their annual dinner/dance concert and Christmas party.
